These terms apply to your use of HEICcon, operated by AppsYogi. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, stop using it.
What the site does
HEICcon provides free browser-based tools for converting HEIC and HEIF image files to other formats. All conversion happens in your browser — we don't process your images on our servers.
Using the site
You can use HEICcon for personal, educational, and commercial purposes. A few things you shouldn't do:
- Attempt to disrupt the site's operation or access systems you're not authorized to access
- Use automated scripts to hit the site at rates that degrade service for other users
- Use the site to process or distribute illegal content
- Claim HEICcon as your own product or rebrand it
We reserve the right to block access if we see abuse.
Accuracy and known limitations
HEIC conversion in the browser involves real tradeoffs:
- Color depth is reduced from 10-bit to 8-bit. Wide-gamut colors are mapped to sRGB.
- EXIF metadata (GPS, camera settings, timestamps) is stripped during conversion — this is a side effect of going through Canvas, not an optional setting.
- Corrupt, non-standard, or partially downloaded HEIC files may fail without a useful error message.
If color accuracy matters for your work, verify the output. Don't rely solely on a browser tool for professional print or archival use.
Your files
You keep all rights to the files you convert. We don't access, store, or claim anything related to your images. The privacy policy covers the technical details of how conversion works.
Intellectual property
The code, design, content, and branding of HEICcon belong to AppsYogi. The converted images you produce are yours.
Third-party services
The site uses Google Analytics for traffic measurement and loads fonts from Google Fonts. These services have their own terms and privacy policies. By using the site, you acknowledge that these third parties may set cookies or collect data as described in our privacy policy.
No warranties
HEICcon is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the site will be available at all times, work perfectly on every browser, or produce pixel-perfect output on every device. It's a free tool — we do our best, but there's no SLA.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, AppsYogi is not liable for any damages arising from your use of HEICcon. This includes incorrect conversions, color shifts, metadata loss, or anything else that happens when you use the tool. Keep your originals.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
